Professional Relationships

Professional Relationships

Me whakaū, ā, me whakapūmau i ngā hononga ngaio me ngā whanonga e arotahi ana ki te akoranga me te whaioranga o ia ākonga.
Establish and maintain professional relationships and behaviours focused on the learning and wellbeing of each learner.

This means:

  • Engage in reciprocal, collaborative learning-focused relationships with:
         – learners, families and whānau
         – teaching colleagues, support staff and other
            professionals
         – agencies, groups and individuals in the community.

  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Actively contribute, and work collegially, in the pursuit of improving my own and organisational practice, showing leadership, particularly in areas of responsibility.
  • Communicate clear and accurate assessment for learning and achievement information.

Evidence/Strategies:

  • Whanau Meetings/Pastoral Care
    • Supporting teachers, students and families.  Follow up with phone calls & emails.  Recorded on Backfill Principal google document.
  • Restorative Meetings & PB4L incident sheets.
    • Using schools record sheets in classes, playground and when dealing with behavour issues to support students to resolve them appropriately.  Engaging and including whanau if additional support is required. Facilitating meetings using restorative justice saffolding.
  • Board of Trustee documents, Staff Notices, Staff Meetings, Leadership Meetings & Backfill Principal communication.
    • Google docs enables collaborative communication across our school.  I keep up to date with meetings and events which I am unable to attend due to working part time.  As part of my Backfill Principal position I communicate with the principal through a google doc.
  • Targets & Schoolwide Assessments
    • Support provided to staff and leadership to access and analyse data for formative assessment purposes.  In 2018 collated the data for spelling and reading target.
